The Boston Graduate Leadership OrganizationĀ (BGLO) is a major new effort to enhance the connections within the community of graduate and professional students in metro Boston by bringing together the leadership of the graduate and professional student governments of the universities. For the first time, student leadership bodies of multiple metro Boston universities and colleges are joining together in a region-wide effort to build up a stronger and broader social network. BGLO will also serve as a platform for student governments to share best practices and collaborate on advocacy, activity organization, and community service. BGLO was inaugurated on April 30, 2009 at the Roxy Nightclub with a thousand-person party organized by nine major universities in metro Boston including Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis University, Emerson College, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northeastern University, Suffolk University and Tufts University. Participation in BGLO isĀ open to all graduate and professional students in metro Boston. Our next big event will be on October 15. In the long run, we expect this organization to play a role in advocacy for graduate students and to take initiative on promoting community service amongst graduate students.
